THE IMPORTANCE FOR BC and Victoria
For British Columbia amateur boxing, it was part of the big revival of amateur boxing and the improvement of our junior boxers. Of the ones that participated as boxers, the one shining star that would be part of the Eighties on an elite level would be Burnaby boxer DALE WALTERS.
In 1984, Walters would be one of three Canadian boxers to win medals
at the LOS ANGELES OLYMPICS.
For Victoria, BC it would be an end of an era for the London Boxing Club
that began in the Sixties
and hosted many club shows and the 1964
VANCOUVER ISLAND BOXING CHAMPIONSHIPS
In August 1976, the London Boxing Club would be replaced by the
VICTORIA ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION
