 The Original Idea of the BCABHOF

It was in the 1984/85 time period when I suggested a British Columbia Amateur Boxing Hall Of Fame be considered in a copy of the BC Amateur Boxing News for Boxing BC then known as BCABA.

Twenty -five years later six of us agreed to start the BC Amateur Boxing Hall of Fame in 2010 including Brian Zelley, Dan McGarvie, Ray Beaulieu,  Scott Galloway, Steven Kodiak, & Steve Wood.

Year One:  50 names were suggested, followed by discussion a3nd ending up with 15 Inductees, five builders and ten boxers.

 Jack was a Candian boxing champion, an  inductee of the Prince George Sports Hall of Fame and an inductee of the British Columbia Amateur Boxing Hall of Fame.

From 2001to 2020 there has been plenty of action from Victoria's Olympic boxer from 2000 winning a title in 2001to activity of Bob Pegue,  Clarke McLellan and Ellen Connor plus many other boxers and builders. Including the six that started the BC Amateur Hall Of Fame.

 Well the BC Amateur Boxing Hall of Fame is in the early stages of preparing for the 2022 Induction process. The four administrators are Joe Pendry, Justin Pangani, Mehran Hotstuff and Brian Zelley.

The copyrite of Cleve Dheensaw's book is 1988 and the publisher is "Orca Book Publishers"
In reviewing the boxing content, it was confined to a couple of pages discusding boxer
Eddie Haddad.. In the builders section there was brief reference to Brian Zelley, then a directorof the BC Amateur Boxing Association
